​Yamaha WaterCraft, a division of the Yamaha U.S Marine Business Unit, today unveiled its 2020 Yamaha JetBoats and WaveRunners product lines that include a new premium 19-foot runabout boat, a more powerful 19-foot center console boat, a surf accessory package for Yamaha’s 19-foot models, new custom-designed speaker kits and storage solutions for WaveRunners, and bold new colors and graphics throughout. The products were announced at the company’s annual national dealer meeting held in Nassau, Bahamas. More than 1,200 Yamaha powersports and marine retailer representatives attended the three-day event. “Coming off a banner sales year that saw us sell out of most models, these new products elevate our line even further and offer new accessories and aftermarket solutions that create all new ways for our customers to use and enjoy their Yamaha Boat or WaveRunner,” said Bryan Seti, general manager of Yamaha’s Watercraft Group. 

The Yamaha 195S Jet Boat is a brand new model based on the recently-updated 19-foot hull and deck introduced for 2019. This premium model features a host of new appointments including MarineMat flooring, a co- captain’s chair, docking lights, 7” Connext® with maps, Wet Sounds™ speaker package and a custom CNC name plate on the 195S tower structure

The Yamaha 195FSH Jetboat comes with a single, supercharged Yamaha 1.8L SVHO marine engine, putting out comparable performance to the Yamaha SX and AR195. 0-30 mph acceleration is achieved in under 6 seconds and the boat has a top speed of 50 mph.
​In addition, the new 195FSH Jetboat models have a new MarineMat flooring kit, upgraded switch panels, steering wheel knob, rod and cup holder combo on the bow and a brand new electric raw water wash down pump with a higher PSI than the previous Jet Wash® system

Over 70,000 spectators and RVers are expected to be part of the end-of-summer tradition as the family-friendly festival takes over East Vacation Island, Crown Point and Fiesta Island. Celebrating its 55th year, HomeStreet Bank San Diego Bayfair is one of California’s largest on-water events.
“HomeStreet Bank San Diego Bayfair continues to grow by offering more activities on land and on Mission Bay,” said Bob Davies, race director for HomeStreet Bank San Diego Bayfair. “From the new Hydro-Flight games and America’s Finest BBQ competition to the fastest boats on the water, we’ve got a memorable weekend ahead of us.”

The newest addition to Bayfair is the Hydro-Flight Games, set for Friday-Sunday on Crown Point. More than 45 competitors from around the world will participate in the exhibition. It features Jetboard competitions, JetBike, JetPacks and a junior competition doing incredible tricks. Hydroflight competitions are popular overseas but there are few events in North America.
“This is a unique opportunity to see these world-class competitors right in your backyard,” Davies said. “They are incredible athletes who will put on a great show for the fans.”

Returning for the second year is the popular America’s Finest BBQ State Championship on Saturday, September 14. The competition will feature more than 50 teams firing up barbecues for the best pork, beef brisket, chicken and pulled pork. The championship event is sanctioned by the Kansas City BBQ Society.
Attendees can purchase food tokens to sample the food and learn from the best in the business on how to barbecue. Tickets to America’s Finest BBQ State Championship are $10; free for Bayfair fans with a 3-day Super Pass. The barbecue competition will have a beer garden and music with proceeds benefitting the San Diego Police Historical Association.
On-water activities are led by the H1 Unlimited hydroplanes, which is wrapping up its 2019 season in Mission Bay. Driver Andrew Tate is defending back-to-back Bill Muncey Cup victories in San Diego but expect Miss HomeStreet Bank driver Jimmy Shane to have a say before the weekend is over. Shane of Maple Valley, Washington, is expected to lock up the individual driver and team points championship in San Diego.

​Fans who love big piston-power will want to catch the Grand Prix World Supercharged Hydroplanes as they’ll race throughout the weekend. This year the eight teams will be racing for the Secretary of the Navy Cup. The cup, which is on loan from the American Power Boat Association, was last contested in 1931.
“San Diego has such a proud military tradition, we wanted to honor the servicemen and servicewomen,” said Sam Cole, chairman of the Grand Prix World Supercharged Hydroplanes. “The fact the Secretary of the Navy Cup hasn’t been contested for nearly 90 years should be exciting for fans and the racers.”
Bayfair supports the military too by providing free admission to active military and reservists with current identification. Dependents receive 50 percent off their ticket and children under 12 are free.
Rounding out the on-water entertainment are several classes of amateur racing from the American Power Boat Association. The classes expected to participate include 1 Liters, Crackerbox, Stock Hydros, SST and Seabreachers.
Other activities at Bayfair include beer gardens, a large vendor area open to the public on East Vacation Island and activities for the kids. San Diego Bayfair also offers RV spaces to rent on Mission Bay, one of the few opportunities to stay overnight in Mission Bay Park. RV Packages include four nights and five days, plus tickets to the event.
Testing and qualifying with limited racing is on Friday, September 13. Heat races and championship races are on Saturday and Sunday. The Bill Muncey Cup for H1 Unlimited is Sunday afternoon, September 15.
“San Diego is one of the favorite destinations for boat-racing fans across the country,” Davies said. “We see families that attended as a child and are now bring their children and grandchildren to Bayfair. It speaks to how family oriented Bayfair is.”

​The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is the largest unsanctioned boat race in the US, named one of the nation’s eight “must-see” boating events according to Powerboat Magazine, the Shootout will take place for the ninth year at Captain Ron’s Bar & Grill in Sunrise Beach (Lake Road 5-50, mile marker 34.5). The event raises funds for eight Lake-area rescue teams and numerous other charitable organizations; last year, $300,000.00 to 32 different Charities and 8 Fire Departments. The Lake of the Ozarks Shootout is alive and well and looking forward to the 31st year in August of 2019.

​Unlike conventional boat shows which occupy indoor land-locked venues, the Lake Havasu Boat Show, co-sponsored by Jet Renu and Mohave State Bank, is all outdoors and on-the-water. The Windsor 4 area borders the famous London Bridge Channel and the northern basin of Lake Havasu, and that immediate water access will again be put to good use.

​The 28th Annual Lake Havasu Boat Show, presented in conjunction with the Lake Havasu Marine Association, opens to the public on Friday, April 5 at noon. Saturday and Sunday, gates open at 9am. ​With the motors turned on, the main screen displays engine RPMs, water depth, fuel level, and operating speed. To control the other functions of the 275, just select the appropriate tab located across the top of the display.

​At anchor, two removable seats can be attached to the stern. These seats sit just below the water’s surface, providing comfortable in-water seating facing the transom of the jetboat.

​With the ladder in between both seats, egress back on the boat is a breeze. When ready to go underway, merely bring the seats back on board. 

​One of the chief goals in the design of the new Yamaha 275 Series was to connect the stern and the cockpit areas so that the inside of the 275 feels like one large area for all types of entertaining.
